Great clients, with great work results in what we think is a great looking site.

London Design Festival Website

September 18th, 2008

Just a quick question. What’s the point in spending loads of government money, loads of time, and a load of marketing effort when no-one can find out what is going on.

I dare you to try and find an event in your area at a specific time on http://www.londondesignfestival.com/. I don’t think an ounce of thought has gone into it.

For example, I’m at work, it’s 5.45 an I fancy going to something within the festival tonight. I don’t mind traveling, and I don’t mind what discipline it’s in. So why on their search page do they not allow me to even see what is going on tonight? Let alone filter by location? Ok, they have given postcodes, but where I work there are 10 postcodes within 15 minutes of me. So they want me to search through every one, and then click on every result to find out when it is?

I find this really disappointing, that we as an industry can’t get our act together for something like this. It’s not rocket science, it’s just common sense.

We went for a look around Established and Sons new office just round the corner from us today, part of London Design Festival. So new you can still smell the paint. They have a great new showroom, more details here. Photo is of a bench by Amanda Levete.

Cool selfridges widow display

September 12th, 2008

We share our office with some very cool product designers - they would most famously be known for their “make your own cardboard cut out AK47” kit they have in the shops at the moment - but last week they launched something to top that…. A Concorde turbine engine on display in a Selfridges window on Oxford Street, check it out:
